Our job at Dreamworks Preschool is to encourage and guide your child to reach their maximum potential in all areas. Each of our three programs focus on four areas of development; social-emotional,language, cognitive, and perceptual and motor.

Curriculum

These are basic curriculum guidelines. We understand that each child learns at their own pace, we are here to take an individual approach and nurture your child in a way that is best for them. It is our job to provide a nurturing and safe place through each stage of development. Also included in the learning each week is a Theme

Toddler

  • Develop self-esteem and personal awareness through positive reinforcement.
  • Develop communication skill; verbal and nonverbal communication, listening, and responding
  • Social skills
  • ​Motor skills; walking, running, balancing, clapping
  • Music and movement
  • Introduction to letters, numbers, shapes, and colors
  • ​Art and music

Preschool

  • Reinforcement of letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Children learn letter sounds, count and point to correct numbers, and recognize shapes and colors
  • Fine motor skills; stirring, digging, coloring, cutting, glueing
  • Large motor skills; jumping, throwing, catching, kicking
  • ​Language and math development
  • Introduction to calendar; days of the week, months of the year, weather
  • Art and Music

Pre-kindergarten

  • Write first and last name
  • Recognize and write upper and lower case letters
  • Language art, sight words (consonant sounds and sound patterns), retell a story with details, write simple sentences using sight words and phonics
  • Math; sort and organize objects, recognize numbers up to 30, basic addition and subtractions, recognize patterns, and shapes
  • Other skills; art and music, health and physical education, social studies, and science
